Meeting called to order at 10:25 am on 3/30/99 by Sanda Loebs, Chapter President.

Special Olympics will be held at Northeast High School again this year. Date is Sat. 5/1/99. Cynthia Gantz has asked for a good turnout of volunteers for this morning event.

ISOP Annual Awards Banquet to be held on Wed. 6/23/99. The Board approved the purchase of 5 tickets at a cost of $40 each.

The Insurance Education Foundation has asked for our sponsership. The Loman Foundation will match our contribution should we decide to participate.

COLC will be held in Providence, RI from 5/6 to 5/8. Pete Palestina to attend. Ann Myhr will consider attending.

The Valley Forge Chapter is having a golf outing on Wed 5/26 at Eagle Lodge. The Board approved our chapter as a co-sponser. Don Martin is the contact at Valley Forge. Sandra will ask Bruce Tuttle to be our chapter’s contact person.

The Nominations Committee 99/00 Slate has been completed for the April Ballot: President Pete Palestina, CPCU, First VP Val Katz, CPCU, Second VP Ann Myhr, CPCU, Secretary Clint Gillespie, CPCU, Treasurer Rick Lee, CPCU, 2 Yr. Directors Jo Battisti, CPCU, Kathleen Frenzel, CPCU, Art Hanebury, CPCU

There are 3 Directors with one year remaining on their term: Cindy Wolkiewicz, CPCU, Rina Williams, CPCU and Jim Jones, CPCU.

I-Day proceeds to our chapter total $1,200.

Pete Palestina reported on our web site. He reminded all Committee Chairs to continue to update their pages. January completers will be added to the site. Pete requests that all members visit the Memorial page and give him any information you may have to help him complete this site, such as photos of the deceased , dates of death, etc.

Chaptergram – deadline for articles is 4/10/99. Pete is in need of material. Pete also reported that we need to do at least 2 interim Chaptergram reports by the end of June to qualify for the Chapter Award.

A Satellite Broadcast will be held on 6/10/99 entitled "Managing the Risk of Internet Commerce". Cigna will be our chapter’s site.

Our March 4,1999 workshop, "Insuring Contractors", had an excellent turnout of approx. 60 attendees.

The Fire Essay Contest for the Phila. School District is in progress. Awards will be given on Fri. 6/4. Sandra to report at the April Board Meeting on the award judges, etc.

The Treasurers report as of 2/28/99 was approved as submitted.

The minutes of the February meeting were approved as submitted. Approval of November and December minutes are deferred until the April meeting.

Committee reports are due to Sandra before 5/1/99 for our annual Chapter report.

The New Designee Dinner had 30 designees attend.

209 CPCUs in our chapter have qualified for CPD.

Interest Section Information is being made available at the registration table at each meeting thanks to Clint Gillespie. Personal Lines is a new Interest Section to be made official at the mid-year meeting.

April’s breakfast meeting is approved for one CE credit. Rich Ventura will handle the sign in and out.

Sandra needs nominations for the Chapter Member of the Year Award. Please call or e-mail her with your selection.
