Philadelphia Chapter Vs. Greater Valley Forge Chapter in Match Play

The 1999 event raised approximately $4,000 with proceeds going to chapters Scholarship Funds

Several members joined us in establishing a continuing scholarship program in memory of Bob A. Hedges, CPCU of the Philadelphia Chapter and Ernie Gaugler, CPCU of the Greater Valley Forge Chapter, for the benefit of undergraduate insurance students at Temple University. This benefit is eligible for matching grants by the Loman Foundation.

PURPOSE: The Directors of the Philadelphia and Greater Valley Forge Chapters have authorized a specifically earmarked scholarship program for Temple University to climax the year’s efforts in the field of insurance education. With your help we can provide ongoing aid to the outstanding and deserving undergraduates who will guide our industry’s future.

FORMAT: We used scheduled tee-off times starting at 12:30 p.m. and buffet lunch was served from 11:30 to 12:30.  A cash bar and hors d'oeuvres followed the event.

FEES: Were $135 per golfer . This includes greens fee, golf cart, lunch and raffle ticket for donated prizes.   (N.B. $35 of this fee was deductible for charitable purposes)

SPECIAL PRIZES Were Awarded for: Longest drive on selected hole and closest to the pin on selected hole.

SPONSORSHIPS: We encouraged corporate sponsorships for the event from companies and agencies:   Sponsorship donations were as follows:

Bronze: $200 (includes name in program).

Silver: $500 (includes name in program).

Gold: $1,000 (entitles two golf registrations and name in program).

Platinum: $1,500 or more (entitles four golf registrations, name in program and sign on course).
